Help for motorists

The most common questions when charging at a public AmpGo charging point.

How do I start charging?

As a starting point, you can start charging via the QR code on the charger’s display or as a sticker. When you scan the QR code, you can typically pay by credit card without downloading an app or creating a user.

You can also use the app Monta Charge (Download link) or press the charging point on the map below to start charging.

Tap a charging point to start charging.

How do I pay?

You can pay without an app or user profile in two ways:

  • QR code: Scan the QR code on the charger’s display or sticker.
  • Card terminal (DC): On public DC chargers there may be a card terminal.

What QR code and card terminal have in common is that charging can be paid with payment cards such as Visa and Mastercard without downloading an app or creating a user profile.

Where do I find my receipt?

If you have started charging in Monta Charge, you can find the receipt in the app below “Me” → “Charge History”.

If you have not used Monta Charge to start charging, you can typically find the receipt here:

https://hub.monta.app/public/receipts

I can’t start charging, what do I do?

Check that the cable is seated correctly in both the car and the charging point. Try possibly to stop and start again. If using app, try QR payment (or vice versa) if site supports it.

If the problem persists, contact us via contact page.

Press here on the charger

If you charge one Easycharger and the cable is stuck, you can try the following:

  1. Push the charging cable hard in in the charging box.
  2. While pushing the cable in, press the touch button on the charger (just above the LED strip).

It can make the cable lock move freely and unlock the cable. You should be able to hear the locking arm move.

Charging has not started, where did my money go?

The amount that is paid to start charging is basically only reserved on your card. The final amount is only deducted when the charge is completed.

If charging fails and never starts, the reserved amount will be released again.

Where can I find maps of charging stations I can charge at with my AmpGo charging pad or via app?

You can find the card here: https://maps.monta.app or see the map below.

On the map you can see all charging points at which you can start charging. Many of them work by using a charging pad. If the charging station or roaming partner does not support the use of the charging chip from AmpGo, charging can be started via the app.

The map shows both AmpGo charging stations and the charging stations that can be started via roaming. What they have in common is that they can all be started via the app, and most can also be started via the charging chip.

You can download the app Monta Charge, which we use here: Download link.

How do I get an AmpGo charging pad?

You can get an AmpGo charging pad by sending an email to info@ampgo.dk.

Where do I download the Monta Charge app?

You can download Monta Charge here: https://monta.com/en/products/charge-app/

Help for site owners

Questions about operation, price, access and administration of your charging stations.

What do I do if a charger is offline/fails?

You can contact us if a charger fails or is offline. We also monitor all charging points, and in the vast majority of cases we see the error before you yourself discover it.

When you contact us, it helps if you can state the location/address, which charging point it is (number/label if there is one), and what you see on the charger (e.g. error text or light).

Can we set a price per kWh itself?

With a service agreement, you as the site owner determine the price per kWh. AmpGo can help with setup, payment solution and administration.

Can we control who has access (and whether it should be public)?

If you have one service agreement, you as the space owner can decide who should have access to the charging stations and whether they should be public or private (possibly for a period of time).

It can be set in our platform, or you can contact us and we will help with the setup.

How can payment be collected (QR, card terminal, roaming, charging chips)?

If payment is to be collected at the charging stations, this can typically be done via QR code on the charger’s display or sticker. On DC chargers there may be a card terminal that can be used.

In addition, in relevant cases we can activate roaming and charging chips (RFID), depending on setup and charger type.

What if we don’t have enough amps around the clock (load management)?

We can set up load management so that the charging stations automatically reduce the power when your other electricity consumption increases.

In this way, your other electricity consumption has first priority, and the charging stations adapt so that we do not exceed the amount of power you have available.

Can we see consumption and statistics?

Yes. It is possible to follow consumption at the charging stations in our platform, where you can also see statistics.
